Construction Continues

Today I figured out how to change my background image and header image. Sadly I need to make a new header image since the one I used on my old website no longer fits and this template has a very fixed size and cropping my old one didn’t work. So I get to do that tomorrow.

I’ve also been looking at widgets. I think I found one that would work for an image gallery, but I need to download it first and then see about getting it installed and working. Once I figure that out, adding any future widgets should be a breeze.

What else did I figure out today? Oh, I noticed that the time stamp was incorrect so I found out how to change the date and time and set it to the correct city. I’m not very good with GTC so I got lucky when I noticed it had “pick your city.” Had to scroll through about a quarter of the world to find a city that is in my time zone. Was like finding a needle in a haystack.

I also figured out how to delete comments since WordPress adds their very own when you start a new site. Leaving it made me feel dumb so it got deleted very quickly once I found out how.

There are just so many things to learn and get used to. Plus I just found a few more things just while typing this. There is a little icon the says “show/hide kitchen sink.” I was curious and hit it. I now have a whole other row of formatting options. For example underline, text color, custom characters and undo.

Like I said so many things to learn. It’s just to bad I can’t do it all in 1 day.

Welcome to the Construction

Welcome to the Construction

If you have visited my website before you must have noticed the changes by now OR if this is your first time to my website then please forgive the construction mess.

I had to go with a new hosting provider a few months ago and figured it was time for a design change as well. So, I decided to teach myself about WordPress. As you can see I just started and will be updating and changing things around for a little while. Please bear with me while I do this.

Thanks for visiting and come back often to see the changes and see what I have been learning. I’ll be updating this as I go along.
